HOW TO BECOME A FINE FEATHER FOUNDATION VOLUNTEER

Get Started and Make an Impact

Once orientation is complete, you’ll be placed within a program that matches your interests and availability. From there, you can begin volunteering, supporting youth, and making a meaningful difference in your community.

Step 3

Complete Your Pennsylvania Clearances

Because we work with youth, all volunteers are required to complete three state-mandated clearances. When you fill out our form, we will email you the clearance form links directly to you.

  1. Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance

  2. Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Background Check

  3. FBI Fingerprinting (if not a PA resident for the past 10 years)

Step 4

Attend Orientation

After clearances are approved, volunteers will receive an orientation date and details for their assigned program.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS(FAQs)

  • Adults 18 and older may serve directly with youth after completing clearances. Teens may assist under adult supervision.

  • Clearance processing usually takes 2–3 weeks, depending on state turnaround times.
